Introduction

The Bank of England, as the United Kingdom’s central bank, exists to ensure both monetary and financial stability. Monetary and Financial Statistics Division (MFSD) collects monetary and financial data from banks and building societies operating in the United Kingdom. These data are used by, amongst others, the Monetary Policy Committee, the Bank’s financial stability area and the Office for National Statistics as well as overseas institutions such as the International Monetary Fund and the Bank for International Settlements.

Follow this link, http://externalboeweb/statistics/index.htm, for more information about the division, and its statistical outputs.

The Job:

They will also produce the main outputs including an internet statistical release and data exports to various users and will be the contact person for public enquiries relating to capital issuance statistics.

There will also be an opportunity to contribute to the Capital Issues Project which is investigating how best to collect and compile capital issues data.
