Background
The Project and Property Group sits within the Property Services & Security Division (PSSD) of the Bank and is responsible for implementing the Bank’s property strategy. They also project manage the major facilities asset replacement projects ranging from £10k to £6mn. The group manage multiple projects and technical reviews consecutively.
Management of consultants, suppliers and contractors to deliver projects is the key responsibility.
Job Description & Responsibilities
We are looking to recruit a Building Services Project Manager.
The key responsibilities of the job are to provide technical estate management advice and support, to ensure safe and cost effective management and maintenance of the Banks properties, including specialist inspections, producing professional reports and specifications and managing the asset replacement works.
PSSD’s Project Managers are expected to define the business case for undertaking the project (including benefits and alternatives against cost and risk) and assist in the presentation of Working Business Case and Submissions to Projects Group. You will manage appointed consultants and suppliers to ensure projects meet the technical brief and satisfy the business requirements. All projects are monitored and an ability to demonstrate sound procurement, financial and programme management to senior staff is essential.
Skills/Experience RequiredThe candidate must have experience of working within the Building Service Industry.
The following skills are also required:
• Qualified to Degree level in a building services or mechanical engineering discipline with relevant experience in Building Services.
• Membership of a relevant professional body is desirable.
• In particular you will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of; High Voltage/Low Voltage power distribution, chilled water and ventilation systems all controlled by a Building Management System.
• Knowledge of current building related Health & Safety legislation.
• The applicant will able to demonstrate a flexible and rational approach to problem solving (at times under extreme pressure); be commercially aware and have good communication skills.
