Background 
 
An experienced security officer is required for the Bank of England’s Buildings Protection Team. The jobholder would be part of a team directly responsible for the protection of assets, buildings and staff.

Job Description

The job requires staff to undertake a wide range of security duties which provide protection for assets, buildings and staff.

Duties include perimeter guarding, access control, mail examination, escorting, personal searches, patrolling and watching etc.

The role involves direct contact with staff, contractors and members of the public requiring excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Skills/Experience Required

The successful applicant will ideally have a professional security background and a professional security qualification (minimum City & Guilds Professional Security Officer).

They should also be fully conversant with modern security techniques/technology and conflict management techniques.

A current UK driving licence is essential and a current first aid qualification would also be an advantage.

Applicants should be customer focussed, diligent and be able to respond confidently to any emergency.
